4Affordable 22" LCD  Jul 18, 2009
I've had this monitor for over a year and it's still kickin.

Nothing really wrong with it, but I recently put up 2 more 22" on my desk (yes, i now have a Triple Monitor setup :P).

The other 2 monitors are made by LG and the considerable difference is resuming the monitor from "sleep" takes forever.

I never really noticed this before but yeah, it takes a long time to boot up.

I'll shake the mouse and the LG's come on almost instantly, the Acer take a while... like 5 seconds or longer.

Not that big of a deal considering the price difference.

Overall a great product!

1One year progress report. Display has dim/brown-out area. Indian support has asked me opening questions 5 times now.  Jul 15, 2009
I was very happy at first with my new Acer display. After just one year, it has developed a dim/brownish-yellow area about 5" x 5" in the upper right area of the display. I contacted Acer "Tech Support" and have been answering the same broken English questions over and over about if I have dropped it, or will I please re-boot the system...over and over to different people (never the same person twice, even though each one says they will take care of my problem). My question was immediately placed in the "Solved" status on their follow-up expert system, and each new person treats my plead for help as a brand new event. Sick display, and lame support.

5Excellent LCD Monitor AAAAA+  Jul 02, 2009
I saw this on sale at Best Buy for $119.00 brand new. It was actually an open box item that had one dead pixel in it. For the price and the clarity though I thought it would be worth a try.
Granted, it doesn't have USB ports or speakers but I don't like those in a monitor anyhow. I mean how good can 1"-2" speakers really be?

After getting it home and hooking it up to replace my HPvs15, I was pleasantly and thoroughly surprised. The brightness is very good, picture sharpness was excellent and the color is vibrant and brilliant. It doesn't have a lot of user settings other than for the brightness level but that's acceptable given the price and the already good picture quality.

The two video inputs are VGA (standard at this time) and DVI-I. I used a DVI-D cord and didn't really notice much of a difference going from VGA to DVI until I watched a movie and played a few games. The DVI input really does make a difference there!

It's very lightweight (something I expect in an LCD monitor) and can only be tilted up or down.

Considering it's (then) original $300 price tag and my $119.00 purchase price, it would truly qualify as a real steal! However, comparing this monitor to some of the other $300+ monitors that were beside it or very close to it, I still would have gladly paid the $300 MSRP because it really is THAT DAMN GOOD!

3There are better monitors  Apr 24, 2009
I suppose time has now passed this 22 inch monitor by. I bought it as an inexpensive (it was for me when I bought it in November 2007) second monitor. My first monitor is the much pricier Gateway 22 inch monitor, the FPD2275W. I really should have ponied up the money for a second Gateway. The colors on the acer are dull, the stand is REALLY wobbly (I have to be very careful when I clean it). It has no features. On the other hand, what features do I really need in a monitor. Maybe I'm being harsh because I'm comparing it to the fantastic Gateway. Still, I'd look elsewhere.

1HURTS MY EYES  Jan 05, 2009

I regret buying an ACEr monitor as it bothers my eyes. I don't know if it is the size of the monitor or the brand but unfortunately, i can't take it back as we've owned it too long so we'll put it on a computer we seldom use.

I have a Samsung and Princeton monitor which do not bother my eyes. Next time we'll stick with those brands.
