Not bad for the price...` Jun 17, 2007

My husband goes through these shirts like fecal material through a goose. I'm always trying to keep at least one NICE black shirt for him for dinners out and the like. If I'm not careful and don't hide at least one away, he uses all the polo shirts for yard work, golf, etc., and goes out in public with them, looking like someone should give him a donation out of pity.
Good (read: expensive) polos get the same treatment, so I figured this polo, which was on sale, was cheap enough to tuck away for "emergency" dinner out service. The other evening, when my husband's polos were all in the wash, I whipped this one out for him to put on.
You can probably tell from my description that my husband's not a clothes horse, and he usually doesn't comment on something as simple as a polo shirt - but this one, oddly enough, he really liked. No irritating tags around the collar; the material is soft, light, yet substantial. The tailoring is nicely done; no loose threads or pulls that you find too often in cheapie shirts.
The fit (an XL), surprisingly, was roomy (you usually figure a cheaper polo is going to cut corners somewhere.) My husband was very pleased (and even more so when I told him how inexpensive it was.)
I can't say yet how it washes, but even if it only makes it through a few wearings, I'm happy. And more importantly, so's my husband!

Nice color and stitching, no shrinkage when washed and dryed at all, no color fade. Really nice value for the price, awesome buy. I purchase a few of these Dawson and Brooks Polo's and I am very happy with the value they afforded. One thing I should note, you actually get the size you request, if you order an Xtra large, expect that size.

I bought these shirts for my 13-year old sons to wear as school uniforms. They've held up well so far: stains wash out, they are still soft, and after 6 months still look decent.
EXCEPT ... it seems like the buttons just jumped off the shirts. I was able to rescue a few from the washer, but the kids just couldn't keep track of the buttons they lost in school. The top buttons didn't fall off as frequently, so I scavenged some of them to sew on. Since they don't button the top button, I figure it has something to do with using a button for the purpose it's meant to be used! Also, the stitching around the buttonhole is unraveling. As a mom, I notice these things. But if you are not as hard on clothing as teen boys, and pay attention to loose buttons, you will be pleased with these shirts for the cost.
