Nice jacket for Seattle winter Jan 09, 2008

I bought it as a warm-up jacket for outdoor sports in Seattle winter. The jacket is actually thicker than I expected, but still much lighter than my old Columbia. The jacket resists wind and rain pretty well, another good thing is all pockets have zippers so I can keep some personal items in the pocket safely. After running a couple of laps with the jacket on, I felt pretty warm with all the warm air trapped inside. The jacket is casual and stylish (but not too fancy), the color could be brighter but I'm ok with what it is. Overall, it is a nice jacket for Seattle winter and fits my need very well.

The jacket is just what my son wanted. fabric is good quality and price was so reasonable. Customer service was easy to work with too. I had to return the first jacket i ordered for size and it was easy to get a replacement in different size.

I ordered this based on the title including the term "shell". That meant something very thin to me. This is a coat, not a shell. It is well made and true to size for a coat. It looks nice too. I've been wearing it when working outside in the yard, but not where multiple layers are needed.
But it isn't a shell, which is what I wanted. My intent was for a thin nylon shell that would protect from wind and rain without any real warmth added. There is no liner that can be removed.
This is a wind breaker and coat that works for between 30-45 degF. Any warmer and you'll be sweating unless you are just standing around.

I bought this for my husband because of the incredible price and free shipping. He LOVES it and can't believe the low price we paid! He says it is extremely warm and often wears just it outside and we live in a very cold climate. He also loves to wear it under his coat when he goes snowmobiling. I think he's wishing I'd bought two! LOL.

This jacket is everything I could imagine it would be. Great for wearing out with all the elements. Looks great and can be presentable at a nicer event as well as outdoor recreational activity.
