THe bulbs met my needs for lighting the finale of FOOTLOOSE. However they are VERY fragile and great care must be taken so they do not break.

The blue CFLs produce a magnificent futuristic glow in a medium room Sep 14, 2007
By Dre Each 13W blue CFL is capable of producing about half the light of a 50W incandescent (white) light bulb. The blue tone can transform the atmosphere of a dark medium-sized room into a more productive...extremely soothing and futuristic...stare-in-awe festival. Consider spreading all 3 throughout a room to distribute this soothingness along the walls and ceiling more evenly. A single bulb is not quite bright enough to have in the corner while you eat dinner, but all 3 together will suffice.
Bonus: While the CFLs are lit, they will look like a flash photo of electrical sparks curled up and colored bright sky blue and near white.

By Marilyn S. Delivery was extremely fast. I used the lights to stage Halloween decorations and the result was a big hit. The energy saving feature of the lights are a big plus.
Very pleased!!!

Purchased three colored spiral bulbs on a whim and two of the three did not light...the one working blue bulb has the effects we sought in a sports lamp...Have been an Amazon customer for quite a few years so am not concerned as to their customer orientation or principles...will stick with books !

Very poor packaging for a fragile product. Sep 25, 2007

I have been using compact florescent lamps for three years and have saved hundreds of kilowatt hours, but this particular choice is very bad.
When I received the package, 2 of the 3 lamps were shattered, leaving a trail of sharp glass fragments and mercury dust from my front door to my kitchen.
The lamps were factory packaged in a flimsy cardboard box, with no markings indicating there was fragile glass inside.
I was trying to reduce impact on the environment by using an energy saving device, but instead, poluted my personal environment with broken glass and toxic mercury.
Amazon's buyer made a mistake with this product.
