Not leather, light and flimsy feel Oct 08, 2007
By Gavin These may look like a nice pair of black leather shoes at a great price, but they are all synthetic, cheap feeling, and pretty uncomfortable. I won't make the mistake of buying shoes online without first seeing them in the store for myself.

Not sure if they're leather, but very comfortable to me anyway Nov 22, 2007
By Brad Willis Some have mentioned that these shoes are not leather, and I'm not certain whether they are or aren't. The label inside states that the uppers are leather, so perhaps they are.
I rated these 4 stars and that's only in light of the fact that you're getting dress shoes for under $30. At that price point, they're actually a good value. If you think you're getting Ferragamo's at that price, you'll be disappointed. However, if you're looking for a pair of servicable and cheap shoes that are reasonable looking, they're fine.
For my feet, I actually find the shoe to be quite comfortable. They're very lightweight and remind me a bit of a pair of far more expensive Ecco's that I own. I work downtown and walk a lot and these shoes have been easy on my feet, so far. I had the shoeshine fellow put a couple of coats of polish on them and that helped a lot.
For the money, these are good shoes, in my view. Just make sure that your expectations are not overblown. After all, we are talking about a very inexpensive pair of shoes.

Not full leather, synthetic linings Nov 09, 2007
By Roy These shoes are not made of full leather. The upper is leather but the inner linings are definitely synthetic. This tends to make your feet sweat, even in an air-conditioned work environment. I do not recommend this shoe if you have to do lots of walking. I suspect durability will also be affected (synthetic linings might crack) based on past experience with other brands with a similar form of lining. The shoes give the appearance of being rather large when worn but width sizing is appropriate (not narrow) which means a comfortable fit. Tongue area is a little stiff though. Can't complain based on the price but as with other reviewers, I don't expect this shoe to last long. Will not purchase again as I do not like the stiff synthetic interior. Will pay more for a better pair.

Very disappointed in this product Oct 19, 2007
By D. Edmonds These shoes appear to be some form of plastic or "pleather." They are not comfortable and rubbed a blister on my little toe and turned my socks black the first day I wore them. Overall, they appear cheap. I'm surprised Kenneth Cole lent its name to this product. Anyway, I'm returning mine because they're garbage.

Funky but functional Oct 13, 2007
By Kyle H. L. Powderly These are decent, simple black sorta-dress shoes. The construction is more average than you would expect from Kenneth Cole, but for the price the shoes seems reasonably well made.
A few caveats: these shoes are cut a little on the wider side, so if you have a slightly-less than medium width foot, order the narrow. Also, the heel is a little thicker than it seems and the toe is more square than the photo lets on.
But overall, a pretty pleasing shoe for being the first time I've bought shoes without having tried them on first!
