Perfect Light for Photo and Craft Work Jun 17, 2008
By M. Anderson We recently converted a recreation room into a scrapbook and photography craft room and needed accurate lighting for color management. These lights were installed in the ceiling above a work table and they work very well for our needs. They do take about a minute to warm up and reach full brightness but after the warm up period they seem to duplicate daylight.

Finally, all the lamps in our household are Verilux Oct 19, 2010

Over a three year period, we've migrated all the various lamps in the house to Verilux. They are not only incredibly cost effective--but once you get used to having full spectrum lighting around the home--you'll never go back. These lamps don't have the harsh glow of the cool white CCFL or the soft yellow of the other brands. I can't stand florescent lights, and stuck with regular bulbs until we found these babies from Verilux. They don't flicker and your meals don't look odd (look at a fresh, hot roast under florescent bulbs... ICK!)
They show everything in perfect color accuracy whether it is your face in the mirror, your clothing, the food on your table--or just a page in a book--as they are perfect for reading as well.
We've gone from nearly 10K watts of bulbs (previously using daylight incandescent bulbs) to just less than a thousand watts of bulbs overall. [Not that anyone has the whole household lit at the same time--but you get the picture.]
Now if videocards would go in that direction so we weren't buying Kilowatt Power Supplies for computers. ;-)
Great product. Great feel to the lighting. Even my beloved who disliked the look and feel initially, loves it now--and swears that it is not Stockholm Syndrome--but instead seeing things in their proper color. Go Verilux! Go Vermont!
Awful Nov 12, 2009
By Paestum Not what I expected. This bulb does not emit anything close to the equivalent of 125W in my opinion. The light is waaaay too blue/gray. I tried it for two days and after a few headaches went back to the original Verilux 75W.
